Mother has passed into life everlasting.

Dear Friends, I just wanted to let you know Mother passed away about 9AM this morning. Blessedly, her suffering was brief. Thank you so much for your prayers. We will be away for a few days. Much love to you and yours.

Nearing the end.............

I just found a message on our answering machine from my sister. According to the hospice nurse, Mom is now on the fast decline. It could be hours, days, perhaps a week before Mom is finally free of this world and all the pain therein. It's hard, but it is what it is. Thank you for the prayers and love. It makes it just a little easier to bear these painful times.

My mother is very sick. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated

I just got a call from my sister telling me the bug that's been going around at the nursing home finally got Mom. The greatest fear is that Mom will vomit and aspirate (inhale the vomit) into her lungs and get pneumonia. Mom's pretty miserable, not breathing well, won't eat, and has a fever. This bug supposedly passes in 24 to 48 hours. We're planning to leave on Tuesday to see her and the family over Thanksgiving. I haven't a clue how this will all work out. Your prayers will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Big Cat Halloween! (YouTube Video)

For those who don't know already, I have a serious fondness for big cats, particularly tigers. I hope you'll enjoy watching this video as much as I do!

I'll have the no slice, please.

I'd Stand in Line for No Slice Just to be a Jerk

Why no new posts, you ask?

Because I'm totally bored with myself. I need a spiritual, mental, and physical closet cleaning. BTW, should you find my brain wondering around in your part of the world, please gently guide it home. Sigh.............

Father in law in hospital with broken hip...prayers welcome!

We just got word that my father-in law fell and broke his hip this morning. It's too risky to do surgery to fix it, so his days in assisted living are over. He'll be transferred from the hospital to a nursing home.........if he lives that long. Your prayers for him and our family would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Stars and Stripes forever....a rustic wreath celebrating America.

Remember the paper chains made from the gum wrappers of your youth? Well, this one (modern) kept getting longer and longer and I decided I wanted to do something unique with it. The stars are made of corregated cardboard with a bit of white acrylic craft paint, the bow is from an old florist basket, and the many feet of blue foil paper chain is wrapped around an inexpensive wire wreath from a craft store.

I think it came out pretty well! :)

Daisies......wild ones that grow as weeds, Gerber daisies, any kind of daisy makes me smile.

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST: FRIEND'S BROTHER MISSING IN HAITI.

I just spoke with my friend Myriam and learned her (half) brother was in Haiti when the earthquake hit. There has been no word from him and Myr has no idea where he might be. PLEASE pray for him and for the millions of Haitians and others whose lives have been destroyed by this earthquake. Approximately 40-45 thousand Americans live in Haiti and only a handful have thus far been found alive.

Thanks! I will let you know when I hear something.
